Banks Partner to Award $7K Grant to Disabled Texas Veteran

Michael Byrne, a retired U.S. Marine, will receive a $7,500 Housing Assistance for Veterans (HAVEN) grant from Texas Capital Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas). The grant helped fund a home built by Operation FINALLY HOME, a nonprofit dedicated to providing American veterans with custom-built homes mortgage free.

The media is invited to the home dedication ceremony at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5 at The Groves at 13714 Overton Wood Drive in Humble.

HAVEN is a unique grant program offered by FHLB Dallas through its member institutions, such as Texas Capital Bank, that reach out to veterans and active-duty service members who have been disabled in the line of duty since September 11, 2001. HAVEN provides grants up to $7,500 to support necessary home modifications. To qualify, veterans must also meet income eligibility requirements.
