HealthChannels Appoints Tony Andrulonis, MD, to Lead Regional and National Strategy as Chief Operating Officer

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- HealthChannels, the industry leader in medical scribe solutions, care navigation and revenue cycle management announced the hiring of Dr. Tony Andrulonis, MBA to lead company-wide operational performance initiatives.

As COO, Andrulonis will helm a rapidly growing workforce of over 20,000 medical scribes and support staff. Prior to joining HealthChannels, Andrulonis held leadership roles throughout his nearly two-decade career including President of Emergency Medicine at Envision Health, and Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Baptist Health Southern Florida, in Miami. As a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Task Force member, Andrulonis contributed to the emergency response for 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. He was recognized by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) as a "Hero of Emergency Medicine" during their 40th Anniversary celebration.

As provider burnout and overworked care teams becomes a growing epidemic, Andrulonis will define the operational strategy and deployment of full, turn-key medical scribe programs and technological solutions to support care teams. Andrulonis will also manage the operations of HealthChannels recent acquisition of PhysAssist Scribes, the second largest medical scribe company in the US.

As the COO, he will work cross-functionally with CEO, Dr. Michael Murphy and the HealthChannels Executive Leadership Team to transform healthcare delivery across the United States, Canada and Australia.

Andrulonis graduated from the University of Pittsburg school of medicine and completed a residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds an MBA from Northwestern, Kellogg School of Management and served as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
