One of its provisions is aimed to stop the illegal practice of kickbacks in recovery.
The new anti-kickback law makes it illegal to knowingly and willfully pay or receive kickbacks in return for referring a patient to a recovery home or clinical treatment facilities. Those found guilty will be fined up to $200,000 or 10 years in prison, or both.
