Children's Hospital Colorado announces leadership team for Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- As Children's Hospital Colorado (Children's Colorado) looks to open the region's first children's hospital in late Spring 2019, organization leadership announced its new southern Colorado leadership team. This team will oversee the strategy and operations of the new Colorado Springs hospital and its Southern Region.

With nearly 40 years of healthcare experience and a four-time CEO, Margaret Sabin will assume the role of regional president for Children's Colorado's Southern Region on Jan. 7, 2019, leading its efforts to grow community partnerships, philanthropy and awareness while bolstering its regional population health strategy.

A pillar of the Colorado Springs community for the past 10 years, Sabin most recently served as president and CEO of Penrose-St Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs, where she created a culture of high performance, leading to increased quality care for patients. Under her leadership, Penrose-St Francis was named one of Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospitals for 10 consecutive years. Additionally, she is a national leader in population health management. And as a certified fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise, Margaret's passion for connecting social platforms with community partners - and preventing health problems before they start - is a mission directly aligned to that of Children's Colorado.

Raymond will assume the position of regional chief operating officer of the organization's Southern Region. Currently the regional vice president for Children's Colorado's Southern Region, Raymond has spent the last 17 of his nearly 20 years in health care management and operations at Children's Colorado. He has been responsible for the organization's southern Colorado operations since 2013, including leading the planning of the new Colorado Springs hospital. His role will expand to include oversight of strategy and daily operations for the new 111-bed hospital, as well as support clinical programs throughout southern Colorado.
Also joining the team, Dr. Mike DiStefano will serve as the new regional chief medical officer beginning in January 2019, as Dr. Bill Hardin, associate chief medical officer for Children's Colorado in southern Colorado, retires after more than 40 years of caring for kids. And Pam Johnson-Carlson, DNP, RN, NE-BC, will assume the role of regional chief nursing officer for Children's Colorado's Southern Region.
