HNTB Corporation Names Mark Weber as San Diego Engineer in Charge

March 18, 2019, SAN DIEGO /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- HNTB Corporation, a national infrastructure solutions firm with eight offices in California, has appointed Mark Weber, PE, to the San Diego region engineer in charge/group director. He most recently served as delivery manager and senior project manager for HNTB's Southern California region.

"Mark's background and history of achievements with the firm further enhance our work with San Diego clients," said John Friel, HNTB Western Region president. "Mark's demonstrated leadership and knowledge of transportation infrastructure improvements - including aviation, transit, tolling and highway projects - in the region are valuable as we continue to grow and meet the emerging needs of transportation agencies in San Diego."

In his new role, Weber is responsible for direction and supervision of multiple technical groups and oversees the client and project development processes.

Weber joined HNTB more than 12 years ago as a project engineer and has made significant contributions to roadway and rail projects. For the San Diego I-15 Managed Lanes North Segment project, he served as project engineer responsible for design and plan preparation, as well as lead coordinator for Caltrans. For the I-405 Sepulveda pass project in Los Angeles, Weber played a major role in managing and designing the maintenance of traffic and roadway design based on construction and stakeholder needs.

His experience also includes high-profile transportation planning and design projects throughout Southern California for the San Diego Association of Governments. For six years, Weber worked on design-build projects and his expertise supports the firm's ongoing work utilizing all delivery methods.

A graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor's in civil engineering, Weber is a registered engineer in California. He is a past president of the San Diego chapter of the American Public Works Association transportation committee.

HNTB has been involved in some of the region's most high-profile, complex infrastructure programs that are reshaping the West, including the Interstate 405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements project; the Tom Bradley International Terminal Expansion for Los Angeles World Airports; and the "Green Build" expansion at San Diego International Airport. The firm is at the forefront of emerging technologies, including autonomous and connected vehicles, with experts in offices across the country.
