American Academy of Thermology (AAT) Publishes Revised Guidelines for Oral-Systemic Thermography
GREENVILLE, S.C., March 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The American Academy of Thermology (AAT), which is the premiere organization in North America for the scientific development, healthcare training and clinical application of medical infrared imaging, has published revised Guidelines for Oral-Systemic Thermography.
The revised Guidelines, which were first published in 2015, were prepared by members of the AAT as a guide to aid the performance of Dental/Systemic Health infrared imaging in evaluating patients with Dental-Oral and Systemic Health-related complaints. It implies a consensus of those substantially concerned with its scope and provisions.

Thermography is a non-invasive technology available to image and map microcirculatory shunting associated with circulatory changes in the skin. It can play an important adjunctive role in the assessment of Dental-Oral and certain Systemic Health related illnesses, diseases, and in their clinical diagnosis. When performed and interpreted within the scope of these Guidelines, Dental/Systemic Health Thermography can also play a useful role in monitoring treatment effects of dental-oral and specified systemic health conditions.
