Dr. Danny Lee Now Offers iDESIGN® Advanced WaveScan StudioSystem for a Precise, Personalized LASIK Vision Treatment

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Laser Eye Center is the first ophthalmology practice in Alabama to offer LASIK surgery using the iDESIGN® System. The sensor technology behind the iDesign was developed by Abbott and used in NASA's James Webb Space Telescope. FDA approved, the system generates a high-definition scan of the eye 25 times more precise than traditional methods used to measure and correct vision.

"We're proud to be the first in Alabama to offer the only system to use topography-integrated, wavefront- guided technology. This allows us to take a precise measurement of the eye inside and out to deliver a LASIK procedure personalized to the individual patient," said Danny Lee, M.D.

"Additionally, it's the only available LASIK technology platform indicated for Wavefront-guided Monovision LASIK in presbyopic myopic patients," says Dr. Lee.

The iDESIGN® System captures more than 1,200 data points of the eye, as well as identifying the shape of the cornea, its curvature, how light passes through the eye and pupil diameter under different lighting conditions.

In the clinical study for the iDESIGN® System, 99 percent of patients experienced little or no difficulty with the clarity of their vision and 97 percent of patients were satisfied with their vision after surgery. In addition, 93 percent of patients had little to no difficulty driving at night.
