Florida Skin Center's Dr. Aurora Badia Named 2019 Top Skin Cancer Screener by ASDS

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Oct. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the largest specialty organization representing dermatologic surgeons, is pleased to recognize Aurora Badia, MD, DO, Founder and Medical Director of Florida Skin Center, as the top national screener in its Choose Skin Health program. Dr. Badia provided more than 1,800 free skin cancer screenings in the 2018-19 program year.

"Achieving this milestone is not just about the number of free skin checks we performed. It is about transforming the health care experience altogether," said Dr. Badia. "No one should ever lose a loved one to skin cancer, and providing free screenings to any person at any age is just one way we demonstrate our passion for serving and caring for others. Besides elevating awareness for protection and early detection of skin cancer, we welcome and treat our visitors with unequaled respect and compassion. It is my honor and privilege to work with an amazing care team to improve the quality of health care and impact so many lives."

In partnership with Neutrogena, the year-round Choose Skin Health program encourages healthy, sun safe behaviors, promotes prevention techniques, advocates for regular sunscreen use and offers free skin cancer screenings by ASDS member dermatologists. ASDS members have performed nearly 35,000 free skin cancer screenings since the program began in 2010.
