HERNDON, Va., Jan. 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Liberty IT Solutions, LLC, (Liberty) which specializes in Health Information Technology (IT), has been awarded the 54-month (6-month Base Period plus four 12-month Option Periods) Application Programming Interface (API) Development and Operations Task Order. Under this $379 million Task Order, Liberty will work alongside the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Office of Information & Technology's (OIT) Project Special Forces (PSF) to design, develop, and maintain the Lighthouse VA API Platform (VAP) as well as to promote the APIs to internal and external consumers and applications through the VAP.

Liberty will be working with partner, Ad Hoc, to develop, expand, and evolve APIs per Human Centered Design (HCD) principles. Our team will also provide platform operational continuity of the VAP, and collectively we will consult, design, develop, and refactor data sources and services for the APIs.

Bill Greene, CEO of Liberty, says of the win, "The API Development and Operations Task Order is an opportunity for Liberty to impact Veterans and the services they can access through VA. With the modernization and advancement of Health IT as our mission, we look forward to this partnership with VA and Project Special Forces to develop APIs and promote them on behalf of VA with its potential partners."

As the number of APIs rapidly increases and expands to incorporate services for our nation's Veterans, Liberty will also improve and enhance the VAP that encapsulates all these services under one platform. These efforts will ensure that Veteran-centric APIs expand the amount of services available to Veterans and VA.
