Aprecia Appoints Amol Matharu Chief Scientific Officer
CINCINNATI, Jan. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Aprecia, the 3DP Pharmaceutical Company, announced today that Amol Matharu, Ph.D., has been named the company's Chief Scientific Officer. Matharu will lead the company's Research & Development function, the foundation for which is Aprecia's proprietary ZipDose® Technology, the world's first and only commercially viable 3DP technology platform and is used in the first FDA-approved 3D-printed drug.
Matharu has more than 20 years of industry experience, which includes capability development, product innovation, product commercialization and intellectual property development in leadership roles at AMRI, Actavis, Navinta, Novartis and Sandoz. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Long Island University and his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. His responsibilities at Aprecia will include advancing the company's pipeline of medicines, expanding strategic partnerships, and guiding the development of proprietary forming systems that will meet future product and partner needs.
