Well-Being Index Aims to Deliver 100,000 Messages of Support to Healthcare Workers During COVID-19

ROCHESTER, Minn., May 14, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Well-Being Index, an online self-assessment tool invented by Mayo Clinic, has announced the launch of a campaign to collect and deliver virtual messages of encouragement and gratitude to tens of thousands of healthcare providers around the world serving during the global pandemic.

The 'Messages of Support' campaign allows anyone to submit a personal message, or create a hand-made thank you card using a variety of downloadable templates and attach a photo holding the card along with a message of support.

The Well-Being Index is used by thousands of physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, medical students, and other healthcare teams to assess their well-being every week. The messages of support will be displayed on the tool's login screen for medical professionals to see every time they log in.

"Being a healthcare worker is stressful," says Alan De Keyrel, Chief Happiness Officer of the Well-Being Index. "Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly 400 physicians would commit suicide every year. COVID-19 has placed additional stress onto an already fractured healthcare system and now more than ever our healthcare workers need our support and encouragement."

De Keyrel says the goal of the campaign is to collect and deliver 100,000 unique messages of support.

"With Messages of Support, we have made it extremely easy to show our 93,000+ healthcare workers in 78 different countries how much we love and support them. I hope you'll join us and help us reach our goal," says De Keyrel.

Those interested in submitting a message of support can go to mywellbeingindex.org/ShowSupport to participate.
