South Carolina approves Istation Math to support students' math proficiency statewide

DALLAS, July 22, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Istation, a leader in educational technology, has been vetted and approved to distribute instructional materials to be used in South Carolina public schools for K-5 math.

South Carolina's State Board of Education was tasked with researching and selecting top instructional programs and materials to use in multiple skill areas. As a research-based solution with proven results in accelerating student progress in understanding and comprehension, Istation Math is aligned with South Carolina College- and Career-Ready (SCCCR) Standards, which was a primary requirement for approval.

Istation delivers curriculum and resources that provide students, teachers and parents with blended learning essentials. Its comprehensive math program will give South Carolina educators the support they need to improve math comprehension and meet proficiency goals with a variety of activities and interactive lessons.

"Driven by scientific evidence and comprehensive research, Istation has been helping educators improve students' core math skills for many years," said Istation's CEO, Richard Collins. "We are honored to be approved by South Carolina's State Board of Education and look forward to serving as a collaborative partner to educators, helping to drive math proficiency for students across the state."

Istation's curriculum and assessments teach and assess foundational skills to help students master mathematical concepts, gain fluency in critical thinking and develop problem-solving skills. The program includes individualized online instruction, diagnostic and progress-monitoring tools, immediate reporting for growth analysis and thousands of teacher resources, including intervention lessons.

Students take a computer-adaptive assessment, known as Istation's Indicators of Progress (ISIP(TM)), which measures overall proficiency and abilities. Each student is then guided through an individualized learning path, consisting of skill-appropriate and game-like instruction. Istation uses student progress and assessment data to create personalized data profiles with relevant information on students' progress. These instantaneous and customizable reports include both graphic and contextual analyses for each student. Teachers can use this data to plan and differentiate instruction, provide necessary interventions and discover students who may be at risk for learning disabilities. Educators can also easily share the data from these reports with parents to strengthen the school-to-home connection.

As the COVID-19 global health pandemic increases reliance on distance learning, Istation is now offering a new online learning assessment for students and educators: ISIP Progress Monitoring at Home. This unique program for home-based assessment gives teachers and parents a clear view of each student's progress. Additionally, Istation's Parent Portal includes a variety of resources to reinforce children's learning at home, including printable lessons, books, passages and games tailored to each student's progress.
