VHS Learning and UNESCO Pacific Present Distance Education Best Practices Webinar
BOSTON, Nov. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On November 6th VHS Learning, in association with UNESCO Pacific, presented a free one-hour webinar on "Best Practices in Distance Education" to educators in the Pacific States. The webinar introduced secondary and high school teachers to best practices in online and blended teaching. Attendees also examined practical classroom strategies to enhance student learning and continuity of learning.
"On behalf of UNESCO Pacific, the UN-India Partnership Fund, and The Samoa Knowledge Society Initiative, I wanted to extend my sincere appreciation and acknowledgment to VHS Learning for hosting and facilitating the webinar," said UNESCO Education Specialist Peter Kenny who hosted the event. "We had over 200 registrations, and over 130 teachers were participating from a single conference room in the Marshall Islands. I am hopeful this was replicated in a few centers across the Pacific."
The webinar was part of the "ICT In Education" series that UNESCO has been producing. It was funded by Global Partnership for Education (GPE) financial resources designated for COVID-19. This GPE funding is a joint effort by UNICEF, UNESCO and World Bank, and part of the funding is allotted for building a virtual school for students in the Pacific.

"Blended and distance learning are truly the most effective mediums to provide continuity of learning for students and is particularly crucial across the Pacific where isolation, natural disasters, the pandemic, and limited resources all make access to quality education a challenge. We've reached out to Global Coalition for Education so that VHS Learning can join this critical coalition of partners in supporting access to quality education."
