Ygrene Celebrates 100,000 Financed Projects

Ygrene, one of the nation’s leading property improvement financing providers, today celebrates a significant milestone – 100,000 financed projects for property owners across the country. Ygrene’s mission since inception remains to provide equal access to affordable financing for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and hurricane protection property improvements to keep people in homes or ready for business. Ygrene financing enables upgrades that help create stronger, safer, more efficient structures that reduce carbon footprint, help combat the impacts of climate change, and provide property owners with much-needed peace of mind.

“We wake up every day with a renewed commitment to helping people stay in their homes and live their best lives,” said Jim Reinhart, CEO of Ygrene. “By partnering with local governments, we offer access to affordable financing for residents, many of whom have been left behind by traditional sources of funding. Over the course of 100,000 projects, our financing has delivered more than $2.5 billion of capital in the communities we serve. But, we’re most proud of how we’ve empowered property owners; who can rest assured with the knowledge that their families are safer and more comfortable and the improvements they’ve made make a positive environmental impact. Ygrene is focused on helping people, and we’re committed to doing the right thing in every action we take.”

“Additionally, we are very excited to kick off our 100,000 Projects campaign, which will celebrate the lives and well-being of our property owners, with a focus on the positive impact of our projects to date. One of the key pillars of the campaign is the designation of $5 million in direct investments in communities we serve over the next five years. This direct investment -- in the form of enhanced minority contractor training, support of local community organizations, and green energy initiatives among other actions -- is a clear reflection of our ongoing commitment to strengthen the environmental and economic health of the areas where our customers live and work. We have aligned with community groups across our footprint, including the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Florida and the NAACP in St. Louis,” said Reinhart.

Ygrene's nationally recognized partnership with MOKAN, St. Louis's premier minority contractors’ association, has helped create jobs and keep dollars in the communities that need it the most. In fact, nearly one-third of Ygrene’s projects in the City of St. Louis have come through this program that supports small businesses, creates jobs, generates local investment, and builds equity in minority and underserved areas.

“Access to capital is a vital issue for so many families across the country who need to make critical upgrades to their home or business. At the Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we support Ygrene because they help build equity in underserved areas and generate local investment. Above all, they give people peace of mind when it comes to their property—often their greatest investment—by providing the means to make it stronger, safer, and more energy-efficient. And that can help them save money over time,” said Julio Fuentes, President & CEO of the Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Ygrene’s 100,000 project milestone represents more than just property improvements. It is a testament to thousands of lives made better; from families in need of new air conditioning for the Missouri summer heat, to impact windows and doors that help protect South Floridians during the hurricane season, to solar installations that help Californians save on utility bills and be better prepared for rolling blackouts. As a steward of the environment, Ygrene has created more than 116 megawatts of clean solar energy and reduced carbon emissions by more than 2.2 million metric tons, equivalent to taking more than 478,000 cars off the road for a year. And as an economic engine for the communities it serves, Ygrene has generated an estimated 46,000 job years. Ygrene is proud to stand with property owners to make homes, businesses, and communities safer and stronger —one project at a time.
