The study of biomechanics includes:

  • All the necessary tools to advance the development of software for the analysis of the biomechanics of human walking in 3D,
  • Currently ESCUELA DE INGENIERIA DE ANTIOQUIA, is building an orthotic and prosthetic lab for the design and development of bioinstrumentation,
  • Biosignal processing for diagnostic purposes.

Teaching Experience

ESCUELA DE INGENIERIA DE ANTIOQUIA has the teaching experience and expertise to provide high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education with a special focus on Research & Project Development.

Production Management System

The need to improve the productivity and flexibility of an online workshop, INDUSTRIAS CENO S.A., led to the completion of a study in which bases were established to improve programming systems. In summary, the proposal developed in this study, came to form a system based on the following concepts:

  1. The segregation of each task to a set of assembly units categorized by weight, number of components and assembly yield.
  2. The management of the different resources and machinery of the plant and the creation of distinct work centers.

Department: Industrial Engineering.

Physiotherapy Intervention Program

This intervention program is based on a model of motor control and learning for patients with unilateral Below Knee amputation and on the system for human gait analysis (CineMED Fase III).

Summary

The proposal focuses on developing a physiotherapy intervention program based on motor control and learning for the lower limb amputee patients with the aim of reducing the time of functional rehabilitation process. The kinematic analysis explains different gait variables, such as angular displacement of the lower limb joints, frequency of movements, step length, length of the tread, step width, length of gait cycle and walking speed, in contrast with normal gait parameters analysis.

Department: Biomedical Engineering.

River Withdrawal Analysis

Determination of the distance of withdrawal of the basin of the La Miel river, located in the department of Caldas, and its environmental determinants, with the implementation of the appropriate methodology based on available information.
