WELL Blockchain Platform to be Utilized for Relief Efforts in Puerto Rico

LOS ANGELES, June 7, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- WELL, a healthcare blockchain project, has partnered with the Relief Foundation in Puerto Rico to help fill the need of providing healthcare to an area that is still in hardship following Hurricane Maria. The current crisis in Puerto Rico has created a desperate need for medical help - where the resources are lacking in providing the basic necessities and essentials in healthcare.

WELL will be providing hardware, clinicians, and telehealth platform to provide healthcare access to remote locations in Puerto Rico.

Peter Groverman, co-founder of Relief Foundation said: "We are excited to partner with WELL for this project. WELL's telehealth platform allowed us to bring in physicians from multiple locations and gave them a chance to volunteer and serve those who are in need."

Founded in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, the RELIEF Foundation stands for Relieving and Embracing Lives Interrupted by Earth's Forces. The group uses social media and new-age technology to rapidly mobilize, fund-raise, communicate, and execute and has responded to multiple other disasters including the Japanese Tsunami, the Haiti Earthquake, and the Hurricane Harvey.

Alex Prokhorov, co-founder of WELL, and Roque Espinal-Valdez, Chief Medical Office of WELL, will be making the visit to Puerto Rico where time will be spent as the liaison between patients and providers, including Sermedic, WELL's partner clinic based out of Venezuela. We are excited to be a part of this nonprofit effort effort. Help us by helping the underserved.
