Lincoln Learning Solutions, Moon Area School District form partnership

ROCHESTER, Pa., Sept. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As the 2017-2018 school year gets underway in earnest, more students in Pennsylvania and across the country will be using Lincoln Learning Solutions' flagship curriculum, Lincoln Empowered, giving them standards-aligned content that provides greater flexibility and reliable support.

Lincoln Learning Solutions has forged a new relationship with Moon Area School District, according to the nonprofit's chief sales and marketing officer, Brad Neugart. This, he said, is on the heels of new partnerships with schools in Louisiana, Michigan, Alaska, California, and Texas, and an augmented agreement with the Ohio Online Learning Program.

"In Moon," Neugart said, "the district has adopted our Lincoln Empowered Digital Library Solution for its entire system of 3,000 students and 300 teachers, and is supplementing its existing curriculum with ours."

Working with Christopher Caton, Moon Area School District's director of K-12 instruction and curriculum, Lincoln Learning Solutions is providing standards- and keyword-tagged digital library content that can be used to supplement homework, create a unit of study, or support the development of a single lesson.

"The way [Lincoln Learning has set up its] digital library could revolutionize education," Caton said. "What we are ready to embark on is really a big deal."

"We are thrilled about partnering with a top-performing district like Moon," Lincoln Learning Solutions CEO, Bob Clements, said. "Moon continues to provide its students with a personalized education and now is empowering its teachers with our digital library."

In California, Lincoln Learning Solutions has tripled its business with Inspire Charter Schools; is now an approved online virtual school and homeschool provider for the 400-student-strong Compass Charter School, which serves children across the state in a cyber environment; earned approved-vendor status for Los Angeles Unified - the second largest school district in the country; and, is providing core curriculum for K-6 cyber students at Irvine Unified School District.

"The entire district in Irvine has 33,000 students," Neugart said, "and its online learning coordinator has told us that she's already getting great feedback and positive results from students and teachers using Lincoln Empowered."

In Alaska, Lincoln Learning Solutions is now reaching students in the homeschool market at Cyberlynx, which serves 800 students in Anchorage, Wasilla and Fairbanks. The 3,400-student IDEA Galena City School District, serving Anchorage, Soldotna, Fairbanks and Juneau, also is using Lincoln Learning Solutions curriculum, as is Anchorage-based FOCUS School, which serves 335 students.

"It's a good feeling to know that more and more educators are embracing technology that gives their students multiple ways to engage with, understand, and demonstrate their mastery of the content," Neugart said.
