Alion Selected to Support Naval Readiness Through Training

As part of the Navy’s mission to support readiness through modernized, relevant learning, the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) has awarded Alion Science and Technology a $24.6 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee, multiple-award contract to provide training services for tactical afloat shipboard, ashore and submarine command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.

The 3-year contract includes two 1-year option periods, which, if exercised, could bring the value of this contract to $41.4 million. Work will be performed on ships and land sites worldwide and, if all options are exercised, work will continue through September 2022. This is one of four multiple-award contracts; all awardees will have the opportunity to compete for task orders during the ordering period.

Through this IDIQ contract, Alion will support SSC Pacific with the delivery of integrated and comprehensive Manpower, Personnel, and Training (MPT) products and solutions that align to the future vision of Navy training. The result will be a learning environment that incorporates adaptive learning, with the ability to integrate emerging technologies such as mobile technology, and modeling and simulation.

“We are a trusted partner on the Navy’s enterprise tactical training solution, because we design with both the future and continuity in mind,” explains Gerry Decker, Alion’s Chief Growth Officer (CGO). “As the Navy continues its commitment to readiness through training, we are honored to extend our partnership into an additional area of Sailor training, using a similar rapid prototyping and immersive approach to help deliver unparalleled Classrooms of the Future.”

As one of the largest naval architecture and engineering companies in the world, Alion will deliver a project team that pairs deep familiarity with the unique environments facing today’s Sailors and cradle-to-grave execution of MPT requirements. The team will serve as the conduit to myriad stakeholders in the Navy training community as well as to the technical experts across the Navy training portfolio, working together to empower Sailors with the right training at the right time, even as the battle landscape and technology continue to evolve.
