Broadband Forum reveals world-class line up of speakers for 2019 Ultra-fast Broadband Acceleration Seminar (UFBB BASe)

DEN HAAG, Netherlands, April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerging trends in the broadband market, case studies of success, and strategies for how to innovate to deliver on growing consumer demand, carrier grade Wi-Fi and the Connected Home and cloud-based services will be explored by some of Europe's major operators, vendors, industry analysts and regulatory bodies at the upcoming 2019 Ultra-fast Broadband Acceleration Seminar (UFBB BASe), on 25-27 June in Den Haag, The Netherlands.

Building on the success of the former TNO-led Ultra-Fast Broadband Seminar and Broadband Forum's highly regarded BASe series, UFBB BASe is set to be a world-class event. A diverse line-up of global service providers, including A1 Telekom, Deutsche Telekom, Proximus, Swisscom and other innovative operators will share insights into how they are preparing the future of broadband. This includes how they are leveraging advanced copper, fiber, and wireless technologies for next-generation access to meet the demand for increased bandwidth and lower latency.

Anchor keynotes from Deutsche Telekom's VP of Convergent Networks Dr. Andreas Gladisch, Nokia xDSL Technology Strategist Paul Spruyt, and Broadband Forum CEO Robin Mersh will set the tone for each day of the conference, supported by expert market perspectives on the state of the broadband ecosystem and regulatory policies in Europe and beyond from Cartesian, TNO, and a variety of other analyst firms and regulatory bodies. The pioneering technologies and solutions emerging to deliver next-generation broadband access will also be explored by a growing list of industry innovators and event sponsors including Calix, Go!Foton, Nokia, DOMOS, AVM, NetComm, Actelis Networks, InCoax, and MoCA Access (MoCA).

"Carrying forward the traditional focus of the Ultra-fast Broadband Seminar, while bringing some new world-class speakers and perspectives to the table, UFBB BASe will be an invaluable opportunity to learn from every player in the value-chain as to where the industry is, how each are finding success, as well as where the market is heading," said Robin Mersh, Chief Executive Officer at Broadband Forum. "This insight is critical as the industry looks to prepare every aspect of the network, from access technologies and Software Defined Access (SDA) to Wi-Fi and the Connected Home, for the future demands of broadband."

Exploring Europe's emerging broadband market drivers and the most promising next-generation access technologies and best practices for operator success, UFBB BASe will be built around themes for each of its three days.

-- Day One: A Market and Regulatory Overview of Europe and Beyond
-- Day Two: A Deep Dive on Next Generation Access, Open Source, and
Connected Home Technologies and Case Studies
-- Day Three: How to Find Success with Advanced Technologies and What to
        Expect Next

Delivered by those at the forefront of developments in the industry, the sessions will focus on the latest breakthroughs in next-generation access technologies (Gfast, G.hn, 10 Gbps PON, SDN/NFV), real-life use cases and best practice for next generation access, the opportunities that the convergence of wireless (5G) and wireline fixed access brings forward, the latest innovations in the Connected Home and advanced Wi-Fi, as well as the best practices in Cloud Central Office (CloudCO), SDN, and enabling last mile connectivity.

The three-day event will combine the best elements of TNO's stellar reputation for thought leadership, high quality speakers, technical acumen and a collaborative and energetic vibe, with Broadband Forum's highly successful BASe series to deliver an educational, insightful look into today's broadband networks and where they are heading.
