Kimberly Williams-Paisley Headlines Major Alzheimer's Event at Van Dyk Health Care Campus in Hawthorne, NJ

HAWTHORNE, N.J., April 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Van Dyk Health Care will host actress and Alzheimer's Awareness advocate Kimberly Williams-Paisley for the second installment of Alzheimer's: The Caregiver's Greatest Test, Thursday, April 25 at 6:30pm in Hawthorne. MSNBC news anchor Richard Lui will be the moderator for the highly-acclaimed forum.

"Alzheimer's caregivers spend every minute of their day putting others ahead of themselves," said Bob Van Dyk, CEO of Van Dyk Health Care. "The simple truth is that we will all be touched by Alzheimer's sooner than later. It's our nation's next epidemic."

Williams-Paisley, author of the New York Times best seller Where The Light Gets In, will share the deeper challenges that her family faced after her mother, Linda, was diagnosed with a rare form of dementia called primary progressive aphasia. The disease slowly crippled Linda's ability to talk, write and even recognize her loved ones. Williams-Paisley has since dedicated herself as a spokesperson for the Alzheimer's Association, advocating for ongoing research and encouraging families to seek help early in their battle against dementia.

Lui, serving as the event moderator, will share his own experiences with Alzheimer's disease. As a leading advocate for family caregivers, Lui travels often from New York City to San Francisco to care for his father. He is an AARP Caregiving Champion and an Alzheimer's Association Celebrity Champion.

"Education is one of the best tools to help caregivers fight this disease," Van Dyk added. "We're so proud to invite two leading speakers like Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Richard Lui, who know exactly what it's like to care for a loved one with dementia. This event is dedicated to all the brave caregivers throughout our community."

The forum will be held this Thursday at 6:30pm at Van Dyk Park Place, located at 644 Goffle Road, Hawthorne, NJ. Admission and valet parking are free. General seating begins at 5:30pm. The event will include a reception at 7:30pm for guests to have a photo opportunity with Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Richard Lui. RSVPs are required and seating is limited (973-636-7000 or vandykhealthcare.com/joinkimberly).

According to the Alzheimer's Association, an estimated 5.5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. This number could rise as high as 16 million Americans by 2050.
