Black Eyecare Perspective founders discuss 'Optometry in Black and White' in June 17 episode of InsideVision

BOSTON, June 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On June 17, 9:30 am EDT, Drs. Adam Ramsey and Darryl Glover, founders of group Black Eyecare Perspective, will discuss 'Optometry in Black and White' in the New England College of Optometry's latest episode of InsideVision that airs live on YouTube.

Drs. Ramsey and Glover created the group Black Eyecare Perspective to cultivate and foster lifelong relationships between African Americans and the eyecare industry. They are well respected key opinion leaders in the eyecare industry and committed to facilitating open and authentic dialogue surrounding implicit bias, organizational structure, and policies which lead to a lack of diversity and exclusion

In this episode, Drs. Ramsey and Glover will discuss questions about optometry's role in support of people of color and Black Lives Matter, such as: What can the eyecare community do to contribute to a better understanding of the challenges black and brown current and future members of the profession face, while together finding solutions? What will make it different this time?

Dr. Adam Ramsey (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) - Adam was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. He is the CEO of Socialite Vision, Founder of Health Focus South Florida and co-founder of Black Eyecare Perspective. He is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry.

Dr. Darryl Glover is a global optometrist, speaker, entrepreneur, and social media enthusiast. He has served the optometric community for twenty years and has held every position in the field including eyewear consultant, optometric technician, office manager and optometrist. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry at Salus University (formerly known as the Pennsylvania College of Optometry). He is a COPE approved speaker, Transitions Change Agent and has worked with several elite brands within the optometric industry. Dr. Glover has also written several articles for multiple prestigious optical outlets and interviewed countless individuals in the optometric industry. Dr. Glover is and sits on the Essilor Future In Sight Advisory Committee, Essilor Think Tank, and Versant Health Optometric Advisory Council.
