ExtensionEngine to create a custom learning experience for New Teacher Center

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 7, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ExtensionEngine, a leading provider of custom learning experiences, today announced it is developing a new online learning platform for New Teacher Center (NTC), a national nonprofit organization focused on improving student learning by accelerating the effectiveness of teachers and school leaders. The online learning experience will help NTC scale its program and create high-quality mentoring and professional development, build leadership capacity, enhance teaching conditions, improve retention, and transform schools into vibrant learning communities.

New Teacher Center partners with states, school districts, and policymakers to design and implement programs that create sustainable, high-quality professional development opportunities for teachers and school leaders. The organization helps school districts, specifically low-income, high-needs districts and schools, to build capacity by providing continuous professional growth best practices and opportunities. NTC improves student learning and educator effectiveness through teacher induction, instructional coaching, early learning, and school leadership programs. By developing effective, quality teachers and school leaders and helping these leaders create optimal learning environments, NTC works to close the educational equity gap and have all students succeed.

Stephen Dalla Betta, Chief Operating Officer, New Teacher Center, added, "Every student, regardless of their zip-code, deserves to walk into a school where they experience excellent teachers and school leaders. To reach these goals, we need a partner who is equally ambitious and who could translate those big ideas into real-world, technology-based solutions to best meet the needs of our district partners. ExtensionEngine is an ideal partner to help us strategize and apply learning science and technology to scale our impact and reach. Their experience working with nonprofit organizations and their ability to push our thinking is invaluable."

The online learning platform will support learning, operations, analysis, and more. The program will feature blended learning and a focus on "train-the-trainer," and it will extend beyond online learning, with capabilities for mobile integration, including classroom review and activities, coaching models, and more. ExtensionEngine is supporting NTC by providing platform strategy, learner experience design, application design, content development, system development, deployment, and system integration.

"We look for clients who are driven to improve the quality of learning but just need some help getting there through technology," said Furqan Nazeeri, Partner, ExtensionEngine. "One of the things that makes us a unique company is that we hire people who care deeply about education. Our employees get excited about projects like NTC's -- bold thinking, innovative approaches to teaching online, and real impact on the quality of education."
